MY OWN PERSONAL CHRISTMAS TRADITION

Sunday, November 7, 2010

I am sure lots of you have traditions in your family that you carry on each year and hopefully down the generations.

I am sharing with you the tradition that I started when my first child was born.  She was eight weeks old at her first Christmas and I bought her a decoration to hang on the Christmas Tree, and each year since then I have bought her and her sister a special decoration for the Christmas Tree.  I did this for two other very special children in my life.

The idea is that when they leave home they have their own store of memory ornaments for their very own tree - going right back to their birth.

My niece has chosen to do this for her two little ones and her own little niece, so hopefully it is a tradition that will continue right through all branches of our family tree.

I put lots of thought into their decorations each year and try to find something that is a little different - this year I have done that, but can't share it yet or they will read the blog and the surprise will be spoiled.

Think about starting a tradition in your family that you hope will continue and bring memories of you and Christmas Past.

Love and hugs,

When my grandson was born I was asked what I wanted for Christmas off him and of course I went for a Christmas tree decoration each year.
I am now eagerly awaiting his hand made ones from school to add to the already preciooous collection,

I remember when my two were at primary school and bought home a clay ornament each and had to put supports on the tree to hold them up as they were so heavy. Treasured memeories!

Thanks Lynne - I too have decorations made by my girls when at Kindergarten - they are special memories indeed. xx
